From the time I was a little boy, I liked to help my dad fix things around the house. Even if all I did at first was hand him tools as he needed them, it made me feel important. As I grew older, he would sometimes let me actually use the tools!

By the time I was ready for college, I knew my way around tools. Taking care of simple things like re-pairing damaged chair legs or replacing a broken hinge on a cabinet door almost seemed like second nature. Even today, I am more likely to take care of a quick home repair on my own rather than call someone for help.

If you did not have the benefit of learning about tools when you were younger, now is the time to get down to it. I’ll walk you through the basics of choosing what goes into your toolbox and why those items are needed. When we are done, you’ll be all set to take on all sorts of minor home repairs and save your money for other important matters.
